Spring has sprung! And for this year’s DIY Easter egg project I’ve created another tropical-themed egg. Say Aloha to the Wahine Easter Egg! Adorned with a pretty
Last year’s Sparkly Pineapple Egg was quite the endeavor. Especially considering I had to create it for an article in Food Network Magazine! The pressure was high to pull it off, as well as to have it arrive intact when I shipped it from Oahu to NYC. The year before that, I did a Hula Girl Egg which turned out pretty adorable as well. A bit more complex than this year’s egg design, but simple enough for the kiddos to create as well. Alrighty, lets get to it!

Create Your Wahine Easter Egg
First, you need to cut your garland pieces to the length you need to wrap around the top part of the egg. Next, use your hot glue gun to place a line of glue around the egg, and carefully affix the garland to the egg.
Now all you need to do is create a sweet little face. I used a black sharpie to add two little eyes and a smile, but you can add more facial attributes if you’d like. Voila! You’re literally done.
I repeated the steps above with a few more craft eggs to create a little posse of wahine eggs. Then I placed them in a little cardboard berry basket along with some paper grass and those foam plumeria I mentioned earlier. Just look at how adorable they are!
I was seriously shocked at how simple I was able to keep this project.
