Endless Summer: Simple Backyard Grilling

Michelob ULTRA Pure Gold Beer

This post is sponsored by Michelob ULTRA but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.

I’ve made it an ongoing goal of mine to try and live more simply. Whether it be how I buy food, schedule my week or decorate my home, I try to bring myself back to the idea that less is more. And when I say simple, I don’t mean basic or boring. I think you can keep things simple while still reaping the benefits of beauty, flavor and balance regardless of your canvas.

For this post I am going to focus on a summer (and year-round in Hawaii) staple of many families, backyard grilling. Good food, sunshine, silly games and refreshing bevies. So grab those tongs and join me in the backyard!

Killer Kabobs

Instead of burgers and hot dogs I’ve decided to feature a few classic kabobs that are sure to satisfy, Hawaiian Steak & Pineapple and BBQ Chicken & Pepper. Paired up with some sweet corn on the cob and you’ve got a complete meal. Simple! Both of the kabobs are easy to prepare and can be modified for anyones taste. The first thing I did was cut the meat into cubes and marinate them in their respective sauces for about 2 hours in the refrigerator. I just used some simple store-bought marinate to save some time.

I then cut up the peppers, onion and pineapple into manageable chunks and organized everything into separate bowls. I set up a sort of assembly line to create each kabob. I shucked the corn and then mixed up a simple garlic butter to coat each before I wrapped them individually in foil.

Grill Time

These kabobs take hardly any time to cook, just keep turning the skewers with some tongs until your desired meat temperature. Of course you’ve gotta have your drink of choice by your side. Once ready, just piled up on a platter and voila!

Simply Refreshing

You can’t have a true backyard BBQ without some delicious bevies, am I right? My choice for this pairing is Michelob ULTRA Pure Gold. It goes perfectly with my overall goal of keeping things simple. Made with organic grains, Michelob ULTRA Pure Gold is a light lager with a delicious, golden taste. It has only 2.5 carbs and 85 calories, so along with great taste is a little less guilt health-wise.

This new brew is also triple filtered and free of artificial colors and flavors, seriously a perfect match to my simple, healthy kabobs and sweet corn. The pure and refreshing taste makes Michelob ULTRA Pure Gold my new favorite beer!

Game Time

After enjoying some delicious food its time for some backyards games and great conversation. And maybe some more Michelob ULTRA Pure Gold? One of our favorite backyard games is dominos. Such a fun classic that we can sit and play for hours. What are your favorite backyard games?

Those kabobs are aptly described…Killer Kabobs! They look delicious, as does the corn. And dominoes is huge here in Miami! Unfortunately, as far a drinks go, I have to have gluten free.
