Where to Stay Near Disneyland: Hotel Indigo Anaheim

hotel indigo outside photo

When I first started planning our family trip to Disneyland I thought I wanted to stay at a Disneyland Resort Hotel. But as I started to look into the options and prices, I thought it might be wise to expand my search to the local area to figure out where to stay near Disneyland. There are a ton of options and it can be a bit overwhelming to try and assess what might be best for your family. A good way to start is to first figure out what your priorities are in local accommodation.

My Hotel Priorities

  • Good Overall Review Ratings
  • Affordable but not “cheap”
  • Stylish but kid-friendly
  • Restaurant On-site with Good Ratings
  • Easy Walk to Theme Parks

Start Your Search

I started my search on Yelp and Hotel Indigo Anaheim immediately caught my eye. I was able to see that both the hotel and the on-site restaurant had some pretty great ratings. Now just to dig a little bit deeper to see if Hotel Indigo would fit my other criteria.

yelp images hotel indigo and chambers restaurantAs I read through the reviews on Yelp I was able to see that the hotel was a 10-15 minute walk from the theme parks. I was able to verify this by simply pulling up Google Maps and mapping the walk route. I looked through photos showcased by the hotel as well as guests and liked what I saw. It looked chic and modern but still comfortable.

Now to hop on the site to check prices. BINGO! Yup, affordable. I was able to secure 3 nights for much, much less than I was quoted for Disneyland Resort hotels and my hotel wishlist of priorities was filled! You can even get money back when booking through their site via Ebates! Now onto a bit more detail into our stay at Hotel Indigo Anaheim and why I think it’s a great hotel choice near Disneyland.

Early Check-In

Most hotels will try and accommodate an early check-in for their guests but Hotel Indigo absolutely went above and beyond. We took a red-eye flight from Hawaii arriving at LAX about 7AM on a Tuesday morning. Needless to say we didn’t get much sleep on the plane. I was praying that we could get an early check-in incase we started crashing. After taking a shuttle down to Anaheim from LAX we arrived at the hotel around 9AM. I was thrilled when we were able to get a super early check-in from a front desk employee named Jorden. This took all the pressure off our first day of wandering knowing that we could come back and chill at the hotel at anytime and not wait until the afternoon. So thank you Jorden!

Stylish Rooms

We got a two queen room on the 4th floor, which is the top floor. The room was pretty spacious and also featured a pullout couch incase we needed it. Your typical desk, tv, mini-fridge, coffee table and dresser completed the furnishings.

The interior design felt fresh and modern and the room was super clean. I liked the graphic touches and patterns. The beds were comfy and the room felt bright and airy. The bathroom was also nicely styled. Large and modern with Aveda shower products. Nice! Plenty of comfy towels. The shower pressure was good and the water was nice and hot. No complaints.

On-site Dining – Chambers Bar & Bistro

We ate breakfast every morning at the hotel restaurant Chambers Bar & Bistro. I thought about switching it up each morning but the breakfast at Chambers was too good and too convenient to pass up. It was the perfect first stop before heading over to the theme parks for the day. The price was reasonable and the customer service was outstanding. They even offered covered cups to take leftover fruit or coffee with you to go. It’s those little things that really add up to a great experience. I have to admit that I enjoyed the French Toast three morning in a row. Yum!

Great Location

Not only is Hotel Indigo Anaheim a short 10-15 minute walk to Disneyland, its also a block away from the Anaheim GardenWalk, which is an outdoor dining, entertainment and shopping destination. We enjoyed walking around the property and taking photos at all of the different art walls created by local artists.

There are many other restaurants within walking distance of the hotel as well as a CVS and a Walgreens right across the street. Another feature that appealed to me was that the hotel was in walking distance of the Avis car rental location where we were renting a car for the latter part of our trip. It was all super convenient.

Overall Service

Everyone at Hotel Indigo Anaheim went above and beyond with their level of service. From the front desk to the servers at Chambers, we were very well taken care of.  It’s the people that can really make all the difference in your experience. I highly recommend looking into a stay at Hotel Indigo Anaheim if you find yourself traveling to Disneyland. I know that I’ll be back. Aloha!

I’m already in love with the ultra-modern decor. The wall art and all the mixed patterns would be right down my alley. We’re in the process of planning our first two Disney trips and are super excited. We’ll definitely add Hotel Indigo to our list. Also, I love that you use Ebates to save a little cash!
