Woah. Wait, did she just say pina colada and vodka in the same sentence? How in the heck can you make a pina colada with anything but rum?! Well, I’m telling you right now it can be done, and should be done! But only if you have the perfect substitution. What is that you might ask? Say Aloha to Island Distiller’s HAPA Coconut Vodka.
I’ll go ahead and jump right into my own recipe for all you booze-hounds that want me to get to the point, but be sure to scroll down to see how you can win your own bottle of HAPA Coconut Vodka as well as a little bit about Island Distillers, a distillery right here on Oahu.
HAPA Coconut Vodka Pina Colada
- 3 oz. of HAPA Coconut Vodka
- 1 Cup Pineapple Juice
- 4 oz. Cream of Coconut
- 4 scoops of Vanilla Ice Cream
- 1 Handful of Ice
- Pineapple Wedge for Garnish
Add everything to blender and blend until smooth. Garnish with a wedge of pineapple and you’re done! Makes two servings.
Island Distillers Tasting Room
Island Distillers is located on the east side of Oahu, within walking distance of Koko Head Trail. It’s a welcoming space complete with a spacious tasting room for you to sample each of their premium spirits. I really loved the vibe of the space. The quality of each of their spirits is impressive. Along with tasting the liquor straight, you are able to sample it with a mixer as well. Yum! See how you can arrange your own tasting here.
