The Modern Honolulu is one of my favorite properties in Waikiki. I have stayed there a few times and have been impressed each and every visit with the accommodations and the high level of service. A couple of weekends ago, I was able to get a fantastic Kamaaiana (local) rate booking through The Modern’s site for a one night stay to celebrate my friend’s upcoming wedding. She had never been to The Modern so I was super excited for her to experience the property. Arrival We arrived about an hour before check-in, but were accommodated with ease by the front desk. As we waited, we were provided with cold hand towels and shots of refreshing cilantro lemonade, a lovely personal touch. The lobby area is posh but simple with some beautiful surf board art adorning the front desk area. The Room Our room was located on the 7th floor with a city and partial ocean-view.
