I’ve always been drawn to 1970s aesthetics. High-waisted flair jeans, rainbow-adorned knits and of course, comfy graphic tees. I’m so drawn to 70s-inspired style, that a lot of that vibe makes it into my own designs for Aloha Lovely. I see more and more brands channeling similar 70s design into their products, and I thought I would share some of my favorites. So in no particular order, here we go!
Classic Rock Couture
I can’t remember how, but I came across Classic Rock Couture’s quilted bomber jackets, which made it to the top of my Christmas list last year. Super high quality, comfy and the perfect fit. I chose the one in Navy but they’re now available in a bunch of different colorways and even have a kid’s option! Love!
Rolla’s
I’ve been on the forever hunt for the perfect fitted denim vest (like the one Jodi wore in Dazed and Confused) until that is, I stumbled upon this Instagram post from @thesaltyblonde Turns out that Rolla’s has been there all along, with the perfect denim combo. (P.S. I ended up buying two pairs of jeans and two vests, not cheap but super high quality and totally worth it!)
Chasing Unicorns
Another dreamy brand that I’ve been stalking forever, Chasing Unicorns is a mix of both bohemian and retro vibes. After too much time lusting after multiple pieces, I dove in and purchased these embroidered overalls as well as a handcrafted rainbow sweater. Athought these specific pieces might not be available now, items released in small batches are sometimes known to be re-released every now and then, so keep a watch out!
Aloha Lovely
Now what kind of small business owner would I be if I didn’t promote my own brand? I am absolutely influenced by a 70s aesthetic and I don’t think it’s going away anytime soon. Give me all the groovy fonts and relaxed positive sentiments.
How do you feel about 70s-inspired style? Are you just like me and can’t get enough? Or are you into a different era? Let me know below in the comments. Aloha!
