Living in Hawaii, sandals aren’t just for summer, they’re a year-round necessity. But with summer approaching for those not in a tropical climate, sandals become a much-needed item for everyone. So I thought I would compile a list of some of my favorites. From basic to bohemian, here are my picks for the 10 best sandals for summer.

1. Birkenstock Arizona
Birkenstocks are my go-to weekend, around town sandal. Comfy, cute and super durable, you really can’t go wrong with a pair of Birks. My current favs are Arizonas in Tobacco Brown and Copper.
2. American Rag Easten Slide
Ok, these American Rag slides were a total surprise find for me. I tried them on randomly at a Macy’s one day and fell in love. I first got a pair of brown ones and then after wearing them for a few days decided to go back to Macy’s and purchase the rose gold ones. Super comfy, simple and very stylish. They go with everything from jeans to dresses. A must for summer!
3. Roxy Gemma Sandals
A basic pair of Roxy flats can always be found around our house. They’re comfy and affordable and perfect for running errands or hitting the beach.
4. Reef Escape Lux
In Hawaii, we call these type of sandals “slippahs” also known as your basic flip-flop. Great for beaching or the farmers market, you gotta have these on hand…or foot rather.
5. Havaianas Slim Tropical
Another pair of slippahs but these also sport a fun tropical print. As you might have noticed I’m kinda all about tropical print, I think I would be even if I lived in Alaska.
6. Tropical Banana Leaf Slide
I like the simplicity of these banana leaf slides. A more of a sporty feel, they remind me a bit of some Adidas soccer sandals I had back-in-the-day.
7. Sam Edelman Gilda Gladiator
I really love a good pair of gladiator style sandals. Sam Edelman always seems to have the cutest styles of gladiators. These are a bit more basic and have a sort of camo look.
8. Sam Edelman Gretchen Gladiator
Another pair of Sam Edelman gladiators but more boho and ornate in style. I like how these don’t get too crazy with pompoms either.
9. Billabong Horizon Slide
I like these basic striped slides. Perfect for the weekend or even the office. They’ll work with a lot of looks from leggings to skirts to jeans.
10. Roxy Julia Sandal
Another basic sandal that is very versatile. These have a sort of timeless feel that will look great even when a bit worn out. I love the mix of neutral tones.

I’ve been wanting a pair of orange Birkenstock sandals, but I think I might have to get the copper ones just like you! They are SO cute and would go great with summer dresses!
