Sequins 9-5: Disco in the Office

I love pairing unexpected pieces in my wardrobe. Sometimes it’s out of necessity (ie. I need to do laundry) and sometimes it’s more deliberate. Giving a freshness to your usual combinations is what can make styling so fun.

I recently paired a bright turquoise sequin tank with a pair of skinny greys, nude heels and oversized cardigan. Typically I would reserve sequins for a night out, but for some reason I threw it into my 9-5 mix. It’s actually not too radical of a styling decision and considering I work in advertising, I get a fair amount of creative freedom when it comes to work attire.

Here is a shot of my look. I think the blue sparkle paired with an otherwise neutral palette helps make it work.

I started to think of other ways that these sparkly gems could be easily integrated into a 9-5 ensemble. Take a peek below and see what I came up with. Could you see yourself in any of these pairings at work or do you reserve sequin sparkle for after the sun goes down?

    1. Thanks Mikela! I love those heels, they’re not too high either so probably a bit more comfortable.
